Better Live Action Sports
Live Action Sports venues such as The NFL, The Olympic Games, NBA, LPGA Tour, Indy Racing League and others have gotten better coverage by using LAN distance and PoE power freedom for networks and capture devices supporting high-speed video streaming that’s live.
About 10 years ago, the Indy Racing League upgraded their sports tracks, using the Enable-IT Ethernet Extenders for their pits, which allows crews to stream information feeds of action sports as they were happening to both broadcasters and engineering teams.
Since then, it has been the go-to method to keep sensitive race information private from eavesdropping competitors while also ensuring real-time communications and stats necessary for the best possible race and track performance.
In fact, fans love the live action sports with the better real-time stats, graphics and action. It’s certainly a sure-fire way to keep competitive sports going for both advertisers and viewers.
What Technology Was Used
Sony Entertainment used the IP68-rated 828WP Gigabit PoE Extender for a majority of its UK Premier League Fútbol fields to support the Live Action Sports, burying it into the fields and offering high-speed video goal line technology. The other methods used were the GoalControl-4D System, which are PoE enabled from PoEx Extenders to increase the speed of referee notification of both sideline and goal results.
With the Goal Line Technology, there are clear indications of when the soccer ball crosses the sideline or goal line, which helps the head referee to make the final decision. The technology was designed to help in decreasing the number of controversial calls that occur in live action games like those made during UEFA Euro 2012, the 2010 and 2014 World Cups and more.
